New GRS Standard Block
Engraving Blocks, or Ball Vises, are specially designed for handwork including engraving, jewelry making, gunsmithing, wood carving, sculpture, precision assembly, model making, mold & die work and more. These flexible workholders are very stable yet easily maneuvered while you work. Self-centering jaws have tooling holes that accept a variety of pins and attachments. The top half of each vise rotates smoothly about its center. The spherical bottom sits in a socket ring so you can tilt it in any direction. GRS blocks are world-renowned for their smoothness, mechanical integrity and longevity.
The GRS Standard Block combines outstanding quality and value. It weighs 19 lbs (8.6 kg) which is 25% heavier than other small blocks. Inside is a double ball bearing system for smooth rotation without looseness or wear. And, a brake that allows you to control the rotational resistance. Both jaws have replaceable threads, another GRS feature. Solid steel is used to make this block. The black jaws and satin chrome finish save your eyes from glare and strain. To reduce rust in storage, metal tools received may come in packing grease or oil. To remove packing grease we recommend using degreaser and a rag.
