Instructions
A marking stamp (such as "14K") is placed in the bottom "jaw" of the tool. This is the part of the tool which does not move when you squeeze the handle.
Then a supporting die is installed in the other jaw (this part moves when you squeeze the handle). Three supporting dies are included: flat, curved, and vinyl. One die is chosen based on the outer shape of your ring. Most rings will used the curved die. The vinyl die can be used if you need to prevent outside marring on the ring, if the ring should have a special design or texture.
The ring is then placed around the bottom jaw with the marking stamp facing the inner part of the ring you want stamped. Just squeeze the handle and the supporting die will push the interior of the ring towards the marking stamp. Once the ring is between the supporting die and marking stamp, additional pressure will perform the actual stamping.
To change the stamp and die, two hex tools are included to loosen or tighten the hex screws which hold the dies in place. The larger hex tool is used for the marking stamp, and the smaller one is used for the supporting die.
